Interactive fiction and gamebooks hold a special place in the hearts of die-hard fans. Many, like TroyAnthony Schermer, started their exploration of the multi-pathed universe through Fighting Fantasy, Choose Your Own Adventure, or Lone Wolf series. Once a reader chose one publisher to begin reading, it wasn’t long before they circled back to an alternate publisher to see what that choice offered. When considering What Dreams May Come by TroyAnthony Schermer, the choice to pick up this multiple-ending novel will not disappoint. Throughout the pages are great art panels provided by Illustrator Kev Crossley. Starting with the cover and first illustration page, there is a definite horror vibe to this story. Readers will discover plenty of gore and splatter no matter what path they venture down.

What Dreams May Come by TroyAnthony Schermer is book two of three in this Savage Realms Gamebooks series. There are more gamebooks coming from this publisher, and they all look promising.

What Dreams May Come takes readers to a place where the lines between reality and the subconscious imagination are blurred, where dark and infinite terrors tread boldly beneath the rising and setting suns.

From the twisted mind of author, TroyAnthony Schermer comes a surreal and nightmarish journey through the Dreamscape Multiverse.

Some gamebooks come in voluminous tomes which can be daunting. Not the case with What Dreams May Come. The book is a modest size for a gamebook, which makes it more approachable for some readers. This book feels like less of a time commitment when sitting down for a play session.

The enjoyable and familiar Savage Realms Gamebooks story mechanics and character sheet are present once again, along with the same combat mechanics. However, missing from this exciting exploration of the multi-verse is the Character Name and Inventory - with good reason.
