Even Sherlock Holmes Had to Start Somewhere - It's Your Chance to Solve the Crime!
A.E. Jackson Review Score: 3 / 5 Ravens
How was this review scored?
At points the reader may feel like Sherlock Holmes, then suddenly Hercule Poirot, and even Inspector Clouseau, but mostly like Jessica Fletcher (it is a typewritten book after all).
The Path feels like a mystery-solving crime show one would expect to see on the BBC any night of the week! Players will find it very entertaining and enjoyable to follow the threads and sort out suspects from red herrings.

Players begin with a tutorial by way of experience. They’ll turn through several references to begin the murder investigation. This is where the author explains the rules, and demonstrates them by having the player do things that end up useless. Often, characters remind the player of the rules of investigation, which include tracking time and following leads.
The character development in The Path is strong. Each suspect has their own motivations, backstory, and possible alibis. Each one is cleverly portrayed with unique dialogue, clothing style, and mannerisms. Overall, the character development was fully realized and well executed.
